**Registration for this workshop includes the Artist Talk with Neely Goniodsky at 2pm. You will get a Zoom invite for that as well and we highly encourage you to attend both!|
We will be experimenting with weaving loops. There will be a brief introduction on how you can use digital drawing apps to create a weaving loop. We will get started with something very basic, like a circle appearing and disappearing, and then built onto that, creating a dense composition of animated line drawings, and colorful shapes.
The focus of the workshop will be on experimenting with and creating weaving loops. You will be invited to share your loops during the workshop via device screenshare, and on a shared Padlet page. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you prior to the workshop.
To participate, you will need:
- A tablet or mobile device for animating in the workshop, with the free app FlipaClip (iOS / Android). FlipaClip is an easy to use and learn animating app that uses layers. A stylus can be helpful, but drawing with a finger also works great. Please familiarize yourself with the basic operation of the app prior to the workshop by the tutorial linked on the workshop page.
- A cable to connect the device to your computer.
- Zoom and a stable internet connection to participate in the workshop.
- Note that this is an introductory workshop. No prior animating experience needed.
